about

white plastiq is one man (and occasional guests) who composes music on computer, using synthetic instruments and samples of real instruments, as well as other sounds. The genre, although a bit challenging to classify, might fit in the very general category of electronica and break down into industrial, cliq hop, crunkstep, trip hop, and others, but include a variety of not so electronic sounds, such as funk, orchestral and rock.

For live shows, he typically cuts the drum track from his songs and plays the beats with an actual drum set. Several songs however are instead played along to a skit or a dance, where he has acted as a dancing robot, a marionette, a man who turns into a goblin and... some crazy dude, jumping around like a monkey.

In his first couple of shows he lugged his iMac G3 (which he named "port") around with him for playing the songs he diligently composed on it, while he carried out his stage routines. Port was soon replaced with "nanoplastiq" (an iPod Nano), which was then replaced with "squareface" (his iPhone). These various devices have acted as his "other band member".
